Hello World Again

Over the past few days, I've been working on migrating the site from WordPress to a much simpler static website platform. The old site on Google Cloud will be retired and the content moved to Cloudflare.

The migration was a surprisingly interesting project. With help from AI, thousands of photos, travel stories, destination pages, and blog posts were converted from the original WordPress site into static pages. Most of the content made the journey intact, although you may still come across the occasional broken link, missing image, or formatting quirk as I continue to tidy things up.

While the technology behind the site has changed, the purpose remains the same: to document our travels, outdoor adventures, road trips, and the places that inspire us to get outside and explore.

Friluftsliv

In addition to the website, we launched a YouTube channel called Friluftsliv where we share videos from our travels and outdoor adventures.

The Norwegian word friluftsliv roughly translates to "open-air living" and reflects a philosophy of spending time outdoors and connecting with nature. That idea has always been at the heart of our travels, whether we're exploring a nearby trail, camping under the stars, or discovering a new part of the world.

Over time, I plan to connect the website and YouTube channel more closely, making it easier to browse stories, photos, and videos from the same trip. For now, the site and channel are taking their first steps together.

Thanks for visiting, and welcome to the next chapter of Come Follow Us.
